The part of baseball I love is playing outdoors with the whole family and just having fun at the games. Then you have the moments captured in this picture where you catch the glimpse of the bonding between father and son and their love of baseball. #3 is Connor...in case you were wondering.
Since it was Memorial Day weekend, Connor's team asked Garrett to step in and play with them. Garrett's hitting was spectacular especially a rip up the third baseline for a double. Since he was only subbing, he played the outfield but in the final inning asked coach Todd if he could play the pitching position. Since it was still coach pitch Coach said of course. One batter up and the batter grounded out to first base. Second batter reached first base. Up walks the third batter who pops up to the pitcher. Garrett catches the ball and throws to first base achieving a double play. What a remarkable ending to the game - the entire sideline was going crazy. So much fun!
