Camp Hodgepodge

Emily is finishing her second week of Camp Hosgepodge at school and today is Halloween.

Nehoiden Cemetery Field Trip

Connor's class went on a walking field trip to the Nehoiden Cemetery in town to visit another historical site.  This cemetery has graves dating back as far as 1700s.  

Each student did an etching of the gravestones and the detail is equisite.  Here is a picture of Connor hard at work.

Connor brought home his etching and it is amazing what a great job he did.  What a beautiful headstone and a great learning experience. 

Garrett's Carnival 2015

Today was Garrett's exhibition for gymnastics at Exxcel. As part of the team, Garrett was treated like a rock star.  

They did a special performance of their floor routine for all the recreational boys.

He did an amazing job and held his headstand perfectly.  You are a superstar.  Of course earlier that day, he finished his soccer season with his teammates only losing one game and had baseball practice. He is a busy man. 

Emily's Gymnastics Carnival

During Emily's Friday class, the class did a performance and then did an exhibition on all the equipment for parents. The class did such a great job on their performance that it was included on Facebook for Exxcel.

Emily always surprises us with her strength and determination.  Truly a fantastic job.

Little Red Schoolhouse

Connor and his class is studying the history of Needham and for historical purposes are going to an original one room schoolhouse to participate in a day of school during the 1850s.  This means trying to dress appropriately and bringing lunch that was available back then.

Here is Connor ready to go.

He did wear his sneakers but for him that is a luxury he couldn't do without.  He grabbed his pail filled with oyster crackers, carrots and snow peas and was ready to participate as Connor James McCracken. 

Off to bow to the teacher, make their own writing books and practice their cursive. A fun day in 1850.  

Sports Everyday

This year all the kids are so involved with sports that I have been taking it for granted.  Less pictures but we have been there cheering them on. Emily has been playing soccer and is now four games in with 4 goals - one on each game.  She has amazed us all.  The boys she faces don't realize what happened when she weaves her way through and scores.  Thanks to her brothers for all the training.

Garrett has been playing soccer and baseball.  He is always busy scoring goals - one game he scored three.  He plays goal to goal and sideline to sideline. There is no part of the field that he doesn't cover.  Love the hustle and the determination.

What can I say about baseball - love the stance and the competition level. Always wanting to do his best especially to please his tough coach.  (Of course that is Daddy). 

Connor has continued to amaze us everyday.  His baseball skills have exponentially grown and his compete level has skyrocketed. Triple AAA has been no problem and he proves to be a great teammate every game. So proud. 

Of course he also play for his Tottenham soccer team and several coaches have told me that his skill level has improved greatly. Connor that is amazing.  The coaches that talked to me aren't easy to impress and you did it.  So impressive. 

I do have to apologize because I am so busy cheering that I forgot to take any pictures.  Oops. 

Emily's Graduation

Emily has had a big month this May but the biggest event was up last.  Emily is graduating from preschool and we couldn't be more excited.

The class put on three short plays and sang five amazing songs.

Great Bear Race

This year the boys are off playing baseball but Emily wanted to participate in the Great Bear Run.  This year 4 year olds had to race 100 meters to the finish line.

Emily took off so fast - she left Connor and I in the dust.  We tried to race to the finish line but Emily beat us by a mile.  When we found her, she finished in second place and was proudly wearing her medal.  Incredible!

Amazing Life Dance Recital

Today is all about Emily!  Emily had her recital where she performed a tap dance to Uptown Girl and a ballet dance to Seasons of Love.  I can honestly say your smile lights up the stage and I love watching you perform.  

An amazing job which deserved some beautiful bouquets of flowers.

Our little girl has had a phenomenal soccer season.  Emily has scored a goal in every single game so far this season.

State Fair

The third grade presents the State Fair every year.  Connor, Eliot and Ben presented a fantastic presentation about Alaska.

Then a singing presentation - it is great to see what the kids have been working on and getting to see all the kids interacting.

Opening Day Game

Who is the opening day starting pitcher for the Nationals Triple AAA team?   Number 1. That would be our man Connor.   As the youngest player on the team, what a remarkable accomplishment.  

Two innings well pitched and also the lead off hitter.  We love to watch you play and love seeing that smile on your face.  

Opening Day Parade

Spring baseball has finally arrived and we were ready for the Opening Day Parade.  I may be biased but my boys are looking sharp.  

Emily is the boys biggest supporter and she couldn't wait to cheer them on.
