Aruba (Part 1)

Every year the most relaxing trip we take is to Aruba.  After looking back at the trip, I didn't realize we did so much and yet every moment was so much fun.

Saturday: Day 1 - First things first, we hit the pool side bingo game to see if our trip would prove to be lucky.  We had food, milkshakes and a fun game of bingo while we waited for our room to be ready.  Then we didn't waste any time to hit the pool.   Emily was so good about covering up her stitches - we used waterproof band aids and the cutest summer hat ever.

Of course, we also found out there was going to be a wedding that evening on the beach.  Emily was so excited and loved seeing all the pretty dresses.  Since it is tradition, we then headed to our pizza spot for dinner.

Sunday and Monday: Day 2 and 3 - what a blur!  Home base was the pool where we started every morning.  We would then alternate between pool and the beach.  On Monday, the resort offered cake decorating to the kids.  They prepped their cakes and then were able to work with fondant to decorate the cakes.  They all enjoyed the process and loved eating the results. That afternoon the men headed off to ATV in the desert.  Somehow they all returned, although a little dirty.  They said they drove so fast and had so much fun on the tour of the island. We ate at two of our favorite spots for dinner - Chinese and Salt n' Pepper.

Tuesday: Day 4 - Grandpa was up and out early in the morning to go scuba diving.  At some point, I convinced Garrett to do a watermelon eating contest and he did amazing.  To show my support, I participated in the adult version.  Little did we know that we went up against a family of professional eaters - they literally inhaled their watermelon.  Didn't even know that was possible.  We both lost gracefully and very full of watermelon.  This was another day of bingo for us and both boys walked away big winners.   The ladies were even treated to a massage at the spa so everyone was in great spirits.  That night we decided to attend the carnival show at the resort.  Emily danced her heart out, Garrett and Emily participated in the limbo contest and Connor watched from the sidelines to take it all in.  Fun Day!
