January Ireland Trip

​Grandma and Papa went for a quick 10 day trip Jan 11- Jan 21 to Ireland as Grandma wanted to check in on the family.  Some great pictures were sent our way.  

Snorkeling - A Must

​The crew headed out for snorkeling which was made all the better thanks to Grandpa who brought all the kids new and improved snorkel gear.  Unfortunately Connor and I stayed at the hotel since Connor was not feeling well.

I was told they saw schools of fish, angel fish, turtles and even dolphins.  The boat came complete with a fun slide and a required photo shoot that everyone couldn’t stop talking about.  Uncle Kevin did me a favor by buying all 375 pictures which obviously I would want to publish them all if I could.

Happy 2023!

​We brought in the new year the right way.  First a day at the beach followed by a delicious dinner at El Charro, the hotel’s Mexican restaurant.  We headed over to the Boulevard for the festivities, including champagne, noise makers and fireworks that Grandpa didn’t have to bring with him.  We were ready to celebrate and it was fun.

The end of 2022

​We celebrated the end of the year a little differently this year.  This time it involved warmth, sand and endless food and drinks.

After our Christmas celebration in Locust Valley, we took off to Punta Cana to have some nice family relaxing time away.  The best part is Nana, Grandpa and Uncle Kevin were able to join us.  After a 3 hour flight delay, we were psyched to finally hit the Dominican Republic soil and were not disappointed by the beautiful Lopesan Bavaro Costa hotel.   

We were there from Wednesday December 28th until January 3rd (a sad way to celebrate a birthday for Brian).

Unfortunately Connor got sick on the second day we were there and was miserable despite Brian’s best efforts to find him all the best Dominican medicine. 

We did manage some incredible highlights - fun times at the beach, French cuisine, bowling, presidente with the grandparents and an escape room.

2022 Snowfall

The first snowfall of 2022 finally came this weekend   Even on crutches, Garrett was determined to get out in the snow.  He managed to throw himself into a pile of snow and even horse around with Emily and Connor.

When you have a huge snowfall over a weekend what do you do?  Invite friends to sleepover all weekend of course.  

That is Jason up front, Adam, Em, Annie and C.  

Williamsport Needham American District 11 Champs

Williamsport starts at the 10u age bracket and Needham fielded two teams this year.   Connor was on the Needham American League team which was coached by Coach Todd, Coach Karp and Daddy.  For two weeks the kids played a double elimination tournament in District 11 against Needhan National and Norwood.

Game 1:  Needham v Needham was a great game with friends everywhere.  Connor was the starting pitcher and his performance was phenomenal. Needham American came out with the win 9-3. 

Game 2:   Needham American v Norwood was a tough match up but Harrison Silverman pitched a gem.  Needham won 5-0 with some spectacular defense.  Connor helped set the tone of the game with defense.  He was playing shortstop and the first ball was a hard hit ball to him which he cleanly played and threw the runner out at first.  One of many great plays.  

Game 3:  Needham v Needham under the lights in Norwood.  Needham National had an eight inning victory over Norwood so Norwood was eliminated from the tournament.  Connor was starting pitcher again and pitched a complete five inning victory.

Hopefully you can read this summary which shows what a spectacular night he had. With five innings pitched, he had 9 strikeouts and 3 hits and no walks.  Insane!!!

He also went 2-4 and reached base three times which allowed him to be the winning runner who scored.  Connor you are amazing.  Congrats on such a well played game. 

This victory makes Needham American the District 11 Champions.  

This is the first time Needham has advanced past the district round.  Go Needham!!!

This game was played until 10pm so it was a late night for all.  Here are the pins celebrating the championship.  

Now there is my very happy son.  Go Connor.  We love you and that smile. 

Now they move onto District play.
