Marathon

Today is Mayrathon day at school.  This is a school fundraiser where the kids called all their family members to ask for donations for each lap they run.  This year we are all excited that they are raising money for Melonoma research which is near and dear to all of our family.

First up, Garrett and his first grade classes.

It didn't take him long to find a rhythm and take off.

On his third lap, G is still cruising. If they complete five laps around the school it is a total of 3 miles.  That is quite an accomplishment for anyone.

No problem and loving his treat.   Now time to celebrate with his buddies. 

Congrats on a great run and for raising money for such a great cause.  

Mommy & Emily Morning

This morning Emily and I had a date front row center at Disney Live.  It was a show about three of the Classic Disney stories, Snow White, Cinderella and Beauty and the Beast.  We were very excited.  

The show was so much fun. Emily sat with a smile the whole time.  

At the end of the show the front of the audience was covered with flying confetti.  I am pretty sure Emily thought this was amazing.  It was great to have some girl time.  Love you sweetie. 

Fury Time

Sluggers Academy is a baseball academy near our house which the boys go to for lessons.  This weekend Connor was asked to fill in for their travel team because they didn't have enough players.

Look at this baseball player.  

C played a doubleheader with the team and played fantastic. He made a great catch in right field and contributed to their offense with numerous hits and RBIs. 

They were great games to watch by all.  

The Fury ended up winning both games which were their first wins of the season. Way to play great and to have fun out their buddy.  We loved watching you have fun.  

LI Fun & Relatives

Andrew, Mandy and Emily were visiting NY from England so we headed down to Long Island to say hello.  This trip we stayed at the Glen Cove Mansion and really got to enjoy all the amenities, especially the pool.

Perfect photo bomb

It isn't a trip to LV if we haven't gone on a bike ride, played ball at the school field and of course, driveway hockey.  Of course, Connor and Garrett had Andrew and Emily out on the school field playing baseball.

We even fit in a couple games of cut throat hockey.  It really was a fun time and probably very eye opening for Andrew and Emily.

Before we headed back home, we headed off to the Bayville adventure park.  We played mini-golf, rode bumper boats and then did the high ropes course.

What a great weekend and it was great to have the kids see some more family.  Thanks Andrew, Mandy and Emily for putting up with all of our craziness.

AAA Here C Comes

Only 6 third graders were selected to skip Double A baseball and head straight to Triple A.  After tryouts, Connor was one of the few kids selected and he was very excited to go meet his new team.  His team is made up of 9 fifth graders, 3 fourth graders and 2 third graders.  

Our ball player is ready to go out there and represent the Nationals!

Happy Easter Everybody

The Easter Bunny came and left lots of surprises.

Eggs were found before they even made it downstairs...then the chaos ensued.  This year you worked as a team and it was amazing to watch you find all of the eggs around the house.

Easter Preparation

I am pretty sure this might be one of the kids favorite times of year.  Dying Easter eggs is a highlight of the year and something they really look forward to.  This year I even had them help me boil the eggs.  We used the oven to boil all 6 dozen eggs which worked out amazing - no cracks or breaks.  They carefully placed the eggs on the oven racks which I lined with damp dish towels.  

The coloring process is always fun.

All 12 colors were in full operation.

So many smiles and laughs.

Even Dad came to see the masterpieces.

We filled up the Easter baskets to the brim with Easter eggs and the kids couldn't wait to see if the Easter bunny would hide all of them.
